Creative Tampa Bay Produces Creative Cities Summit
September 8-9, 2004

Creative Cities Summit 2004 brought together the leading practitioners and thinkers in the creative economy from around the world, including Charles Landry from the U.K.'s leading cultural consultancy, Comedia. This event focused on putting creative economy theories into practice. Speakers offered real-world examples that blended theory with practice, providing attendees with workable blueprints and tools to implement in their own communities, particularly in Florida.

Sessions covered topics such as:

  • Building the Creative Workforce
  • Developing Networks
  • New Trends in Economic Development
  • Industry Focus Panels - Digital Media, Design & Software
  • Marketing the Creative City
  • Financing the Creative Enterprise

Special emphasis was placed on measuring tangible ROI to help practitioners make a strong business case for implementing creative economy strategies and policies at home.

Summit founders and co-chairs, Michelle Bauer & Peter Kageyama have launched Creative Cities Productions to produce future events around the Creative Economy.
